Mission Statement
The Shasta Breastfeeding Coalition is individuals and agencies whose mission is to promote positive attitudes about breastfeeding by getting the word out about breastfeeding and its benefits to our community.
Our coalition goals are:
· To inform the community of the deeply satisfying, life-long health benefits of feeding babies breast milk for at least the first year.
· To encourage health care professionals to provide support to help mothers initiate breastfeeding and to keep mothers breastfeeding their babies for at least the
first year.
· To promote community acceptance and support of the breastfeeding mom.
Our Vision is a Community where breastfeeding mothers are encouraged
and supported and breastfeeding
is accepted as the norm.
